Women Empowerment Cell (WEC)
The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) is established to promote gender equality, empower women students and employees and create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment within the University. The Cell works to enhance awareness about women’s rights, leadership opportunities, and personal development while ensuring dignity and respect for women across the campus.
The activities of the Women Empowerment Cell align with the principles and guidelines encouraged by the University Grants Commission to promote gender sensitization and equal opportunities in higher education institutions.
Objectives:
- To promote gender equality and women empowerment within the University community.
- To create awareness about women’s rights, safety and legal protections.
- To encourage leadership, skill development and career advancement for women students and staff.
- To organize programmes that support health, wellbeing and personal development of women.
- To contribute to a safe and inclusive campus environment.
